Coco 19 Weeks

Coco is a mango this week! I'm feeling him more and more and think it won't be too much longer before Jeff can feel him kicking. It's still a weird feeling to me...I just want to feel used to it so it stops creeping me out so much!

Coco's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear our voices now, so I'm going to try to get over the weirdness of talking or reading to my belly and just do it already. His kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on his skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.


Please ignore my lack of smile...I felt cheesy and Jeff managed to snap the picture as I stopped smiling. Also, I've made it to 19 weeks without gaining any weight yet!!! I am super excited! The last few weeks I've been scared to get on the scale in case I finally gained and made up for it all, but I braved it last night and found out I am still down 6-7 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. I was absolutely thrilled!
