Coco 18 Weeks

Coco is the size of a sweet potato or a bell pepper this week! Earlier this week I felt what I'm pretty sure were hiccups...very strange. I wish I'd feel more movement so I can get used to it, because it catches me off guard every time and just feels weird for now. Coco is busy yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking and swallowing now. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If Coco's a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If Coco's a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them during an ultrasound.
I haven't been feeling the best this week. Lots of allergy problems and in general just feeling miserable. I also experienced a return of nausea for a few days. Hopefully that's done now too. I've had to start eating smaller amounts more frequently as well. I get full extremely quickly.

We also find out Tuesday whether Jeff will have a state job starting in January or if he'll be job hunting. Hopefully the campaign results are in our favor, because jobs are scarce and things are tight already!
