2012

2012 was a year. I am not going to say it was good, but it wasn't bad either. It was just there.

January brought the worst of Cole's asthma attacks, and many expensive medications.

February, we paid off my most hated debt--my college credit card!

March gave us a heat wave. We played in a kiddie pool in mom's backyard and sat in the sun, and definitely enjoyed being outside after the winter!

April was when my scary health stuff started. Doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong, and I had a battery of tests done. It was pretty frightening.

May, the playground equipment behind my house was removed, and I was thrilled! It is no longer a hangout for 14 unsupervised children by day, and creepy adults at night! I also celebrated my 2nd Mother's Day as  mom. :)

June, we got to see Paul and spend a week at a cottage with him and the rest of my family. There was a massive wildfire near Paul's apartment while we were on vacation. It was scary. Jeff and I had our 4th anniversary as well. And Cole turned 18 months old.

July brought answers to my health problems! My gall bladder! Yay! Cole got his first haircut, Jeff took a week off to go away with friends, leaving me home with Cole all alone. It also was unbelievably hot (please Lord, do not be that hot this summer!) and humid!

In August, Cole moved to a big boy bed, and transitioned pretty smoothly. I had my gall bladder removed and spent a few weeks recovering.

September, I had my third miscarriage and was told I would not get pregnant easily. I took it pretty hard. Jeff had to fly to Washington when his grandma died. We got our garage door fixed and shut it for the first time in 3 years!

In October, my awesome mom gutted my garage for us and cleaned it out. I think she still has a tickle in her throat from the nastiness! We got to see Paul again too (he was in a wedding)! Tigers made the World Series but sadly didn't win. Cole went to the pumpkin patch for the first time ever and loved seeing all the animals in the barn too. Goats were his favorite!

November, we found out we were expecting our second baby. After a few scares and being told it wouldn't happen, we were (are?) incredibly nervous, but thrilled nonetheless! We celebrated a great Thanksgiving with Jeff's family at his mom's new place.

December has been busy! Cole turned 2 years old! I was put on bedrest for a few weeks, but was released from it before Christmas. We got to see a wiggly little baby on the ultrasound right before Christmas. We had fun celebrating the holidays with everyone and it was nice to have time to relax at home together too. Cole enjoyed playing in the snow for the first time this season. I realized we paid off $11,000 in debt this year!

All in all, I guess now that I look back more specifically, it was a pretty good year. Definitely more good than bad. :) And a lot of things to look forward to in the new year!
