Restricted

Well, I saw the nurse today. Seems like I got a whole long list of "do not's".

Absolutely do not lift Cole. Ever. Good thing he's in a big boy bed!

No lifting anything over 10lbs. No laundry baskets, no grocery bags...no, no, no.

No extra walking (stores included).

Rest all day. Do not stress my body in any way.

Do not gain weight (I've lost 11 lbs so far, being fairly lazy, so I'm actually not super concerned about this one. I lost with Cole's pregnancy too, and then gained at the very end.)

No salt. Boo. I love salt!

Do not buy my own doppler to listen to baby's heartbeat. I am still torn on this one. I want to use one, but know it might freak myself out if I couldn't find the heartbeat.

Do not miss a dose of my blood pressure medication. She doesn't care if I forget my prenatal every day, I must remember this one.

Do not worry about the lack of symptoms, the cramping, or the spotting (since the spotting shouldn't happen unless I'm up doing too much.)

Now for the good stuff:

Yay for being down 11 lbs without trying.

Prilosec is pregnancy approved!

Many, many free samples! I now have a lifetime supply of DHA and calcium supplements, some diapers and wipes, and a promise of a case of Enfamil if I tried breastfeeding again and didn't like it or couldn't do it again.

I have a good family who helps with Cole and makes my life easier.

Double yay for having an excellent husband who didn't even flinch when the nurse gave me a long list of things not to do or when I cried about it. And who immediately came up with a plan to move baby gates around and other things that make it easier for me to not lift Cole.

  1. The stores one and lifting Cole(Tillie) would be the hardest for me.

Please let me know if you need any errands run/things picked up. We go out most days so it would be no trouble at all.

  2. The lifting one will be the hardest for me. I'm not even supposed to help him into the car, but he can't climb in himself, so I'm going to have to break that rule. I am otherwise pretty much a homebody, and don't like to run errands with Cole at all, so I shop online and Jeff does the grocery shopping. Of course we're going on a "date night" tonight (dinner and finishing up some Christmas stuff), and I'm not supposed to walk, so I'm saving up all my walking for then! Hopefully this is just a couple weeks until I'm out of the first trimester.

  3. I know it seems kind of lame, but can you use the motorized carts at Meijer or wheelchairs at the mall? My parents do have a wheelchair that I'm sure you could borrow for a while!

  4. Random question, when I was pregnant with Teddy lunchmeat was okay to eat as long as you got it from a clean place. Is that still the case?

  5. Yes. She said get it from a clean place and use it in a timely manner, and obviously don't eat it if it's slimy or smells funny (yuck anyway!).
