Well, I'm solidly in my first trimester of my fifth pregnancy, hopefully second child to take home. I found out more than a month ago, and wanted originally to keep it a secret until closer to Christmas or the New Year, but some of the friends and family that knew were having a hard time keeping it a secret, so I decided we should share before people found out secondhand. So I'm nearly 9 weeks, and we announced a couple days ago. Of course the next night after announcing, I started spotting again and cramping. I'm now officially on "light bedrest" until it clears up. Fun with a two year old, right? The doctor says my ultrasound from right before Thanksgiving looked great, and he is not worried. He just thinks I overdid it. So far, my blood pressure is under control (with meds), and I'm monitoring it at home just to be sure. We have our "first" appointment on Friday with the nurse, but I've been in once for my blood pressure (it had spiked but it turns out it was a fluke), and once for the ultrasound.
I have not decided if I will post my belly pictures. I'm so overweight that they are kind of humiliating, at least at this point. But on that note, I have lost several pounds since I got pregnant. Apparently pregnancy is a good diet for me! Ha!
Anyway, baby will be here in July (hopefully not sooner). I'm due the 13th, which happens to be my dad's birthday. :)
Oh my goodness, how scary! I pray that the bed rest is all you need. Is everything seeming better today?
ReplyDeleteEven if you don't post the belly pictures, I'd still take them, just for yourself.
The spotting has stopped, but the cramping is still happening when I get up and do much. I had this with Cole too, so I know things are probably fine, but I'm just a little on edge about it, and frustrated that the doctor doesn't really want to see me.
ReplyDeleteI have been taking them every week since 4 weeks (I knew at 3 weeks, but thought that would be a little excessive!), but probably won't share until my belly is actually a baby belly. Right now they look kind of like "before" photos for someone on Biggest Loser. Oh well.
I always started at 5 weeks. I don't think I thought of it until I was that far along with Tillie, so now it's "tradition".
ReplyDeleteI pray everything goes smoothly for you from here on out!
Thanks for the prayers.
ReplyDeleteWell, I spoke too soon. Spotting is back as soon as I get up. I think I'm either going to demand to be seen tomorrow, or go to the ER if it continues. I've also lost some pregnancy symptoms (though to be fair, this is when I started feeling a little better with Cole too).
