So, my cousin Amber had the idea to blog about the pins she'd done from Pinterest this year. I'm stealing her idea because I'm bored and it sounds like fun.
1-2-3 Mug Cake I actually sort of liked this. It seems like everyone I know who tried it thought it was disgusting. I used chocolate cake mix, dropped in a few chocolate chips, and then drizzled with chocolate syrup when it was done. Yes, it was a little spongy, but no more spongy than the Betty Crocker Warm Delights at the store.
Motivational Marbles I did this to see if seeing my progress would help with motivation for weight loss. It didn't help. Maybe it's because I didn't print on my jars pounds lost and whatnot. I now have two bowls of blue and green marbles on my dresser. I guess I'll make magnets out of them.
Weight Watchers Key Lime Pie This is one of my favorite pins! My mom also fell in love with it and makes it often. Personal favorite flavors are orange and strawberry (especially topped with fresh strawberries!). I would like to try lemon and raspberry yet too. Open all your ingredients and have them handy, or have a helper nearby. If you are too slow, the jello starts to firm up and you get little jello chunks in it. Not awful, but less visually pleasing.
Weight Watchers Ranch Potatoes Okay, I lied. These might be my favorite! They are ridiculously simple, and taste so good! I used 5 medium sized red skin potatoes. The recipe says 12 oz, but my food scale said that was two potatoes, and the potatoes would have drowned in ranch seasoning! I also cut them into bite size pieces to let them cook faster. We made this a lot over the summer.
Stuffed Pizza Rolls I made these for a small group get together. I thought they were pretty good, but could use more cheese inside. Maybe a chunk of string cheese or from a mozzarella block instead of shredded cheese. It just ended up tasting like seasoning and dough, with marinara to dip it in.
Jello Cookies These were very labor intensive cookies, but I think they will be really fun for a preschool class snack. This took a lot of dishes and about twice as long to make as I thought. We tried cherry lemonade, orange, berry blue and lime.
Crockpot Ranch Porkchops Very easy, very tasty. I don't like gravy, so I didn't turn the extra sauce into gravy, but you definitely could do that.
Ice Cube Bath Paint This was awful. Stained my ice cube trays, hands, bathtub, Cole's feet all sorts of colors from the food coloring. Not worth it!
Crockpot Salsa Chicken Insanely simple and makes enough you could serve a crowd. I just don't like mexican food, so I don't know why I thought this would be any different. Jeff loved it though!
Crockpot Chicken and Noodles We eat this ALL the time. I don't use the recipe anymore, just wing it. I blogged it here.
Skinny Chicken and Biscuits Casserole We thought this would be very good, but it was awful. There were too many dry ingredients, so it was hard to mix the dough, and then when it baked, it all got very watery. Plus the biscuits tasted too much like sour cream. I wasn't a fan.
Cheesy Baked Shells and Broccoli This was my first attempt at a homemade mac n cheese (and I don't even like mac n cheese). It tasted okay. It wasn't very cheesy, just tasted very rich and made my stomach hurt from all the milk. Jeff really liked it, and wants me to make it again.
Monster Cookies So so so so good. Do not double the recipe though. You will be in the kitchen all day. The cookies taste best straight from the freezer in my opinion. I need to make these again!
