At most, I'll go to 39 weeks with this baby, and today I'm 13 weeks, so I'm at least a third of the way through this pregnancy! That means I'm pretty much in my second trimester now too!
I've lost 13.5 pounds and just keep losing about a pound a week (at least so far), which is more than I kept off doing Weight Watchers last year! I'm still not feeling fabulous yet...nausea creeps in frequently, and I'm very tired. I kind of thought I'd be done with that by now. I also have lots of muscle and hip pain already, that makes it hard to walk some days. Oh well. I'm not supposed to do a ton of that anyway.
My blood pressure had been excellent until I got this never ending cold (turned ear infection or something). I finally got antibiotics after 2 weeks of getting worse, and am hopefully on the mend now. My blood pressure still responds well to resting, so no need to increase the dose of my medication yet. I am hoping to just stay at this dose and not need bedrest. One can dream, right?
This month marks the start of a major budget overhaul (which I'm excited about!), and some projects around the house to get ready for baby. January's project is to build some storage shelves in the basement, get the boxes off the floor and onto the shelves, and then empty out the sunroom (off our living room) into it's appropriate places (Goodwill, basement, etc.). We might start painting the sunroom this month too. Otherwise that's what February will start with. The rest of February will be dedicated to organizing all the things in the upstairs office and moving them down to the sunroom. We probably need a new desk, a filing cabinet, and a new light installed. Then early March, we'll paint the upstairs "office", have carpet installed, and get that light replaced too. Cole will hopefully move into his new room the end of March. We need a mattress for his bed, some curtains for the windows, and a toy storage system. April is dedicated to painting Cole's old room for the new baby, since we'll know whether baby is a boy or girl by then (hopefully!). It also needs a new light, and maybe a dimmer switch put in. If we can swing it, I'd like to carpet that room as well. That leaves May for any final things to catch up on, and to work on some outdoor projects (we still need the yard cleaned up, seeded, and fenced). And gives me May and June to unpack baby things and put them away. Luckily, Jeff is awesome, and has agreed to this timeline!
I'm getting very excited thinking about all the things we have to do, since many were projects I've wanted done for a long time, but it's also making me nervous that in just a few short months, we need to be done with them all so that everything is ready before the baby gets here!
I love having a dimmer switch in the nursery. I recommend that!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was looking at twin mattresses Costco seemed to have the best price, but I think there was a "coupon" the month I bought Tillie's.
Thanks for the tip! I don't need a box spring at all, so I'm hoping we don't run into specials as a package only. I think there's usually sales on stuff like that near Presidents Day too.
ReplyDelete(We used a really dim but creepy looking lamp at night for Cole when I needed to feed him, but I hated it and would prefer the dimmer, so I'm hoping we can get someone in to just do all our lights that need replacing and the switch all at once.)
