Coco 27 Weeks

This week is the third trimester! Yay! Coco weighs a little over 2.5 pounds and is about 15 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Coco's lungs are going through some major developments these days, which (combined with the opening of previously plugged nostrils) means she's now able to practice inhaling and exhaling.

I'm feeling absolutely huge at this point, and apparently I walk like a pregnant woman now too. I can't believe I still have several weeks to go! I'm so uncomfortable most of the time already! It was pretty cool to feel and see Coco rolling and squirming around in there though. I even saw the kicks while I was reading in bed. How crazy! The nursery is primed and ready for paint, but Jeff has been busy, so the painting took a backseat to other things. Hopefully some paint will go up this week so that we can put together the furniture and get it set up. I need to satisfy my nesting urges! Plus then I can better see what we still need, since it'll all be unpacked and set up! We panicked a little yesterday when we realized we only have 3 months until the due date, and will still likely go early (though I figure that since I'm planning on going early now, I'll go late, despite all the complications), so we might have only 2 months or less! I worried then about all that still needs to be done. The list never seems to end...
