My Afternoon at the Doctor's Office

I had an appointment, a non stress test, and an ultrasound today. I have been having cramping and contractions, but I guess I just have to "put up with" them unless they get worse, since it's me getting ready to go into labor. The doctor suggested water therapy, but insurance won't cover it, and I can't afford it (and really, who at this point in pregnancy wants to put on a swimsuit??). Also he told me to get a prenatal massage, but that's not covered either, so it's not gonna happen (and they kind of weird me out). He said he won't stop me if I go into labor now, but would really like to make it to 36 weeks.  Also, he promised I will have this baby by the end of the year since I'm measuring huge and my bp is still climbing despite the medication...so that's a relief. I was starting to worry that he was just going to let me go late and then use me as the patient he brags about getting so far with so many issues. I passed the NST with flying colors, despite the monitor being kicked off a few times!

At my ultrasound (the measurements can be off by a bit so take them with a grain of salt), Coco weighed 5 lbs! And was measuring between 36 and 38 weeks for head and belly, and 33ish weeks for limbs. The tech did a 3d pic of Coco's face but didn't save it cause it wasn't "good enough" to print. I thought it was fine and would have taken it no problem, but oh well. Jeff thinks 3D ultrasound pictures are creepy, but I think they are cute...and the face shots from a regular ultrasound are creepy! Either way, we've got a pretty cute little baby, with chubby little cheeks!

  1. I'm with Jeff; I think 3d ultrasounds are creepy. I'm kind of glad I never got one.

I'm glad Coco seems to be thriving as of late!
