In the past week, there have been 2 confirmed shootings in my part of the city, one only a few blocks away and in broad daylight, supposedly for no reason! Last night was another a little further away, but still too close for me. Also, last night, 4 police cars on my street, right in front of my house,  blocking the road. Talked to some neighbors this morning, and one said it was an attempted shooting, another said it was because of fireworks. Either way, I am so sick of it. Supposedly opening the city pool a few blocks away will fix this, but it's not open yet. Good grief, if that's the big fix, open the dang pool already! I, however, find it hard to believe that the punks driving around with guns will go, "oh, hey, instead of shooting someone today, let's go to the city pool." But maybe that's just me.
