Dr. Appt. Update

Well...My blood pressure was high while at the doctor's office, so I left with a prescription for Aldomet, the same med I was on when pregnant. This way, if it's something I have to be on long term, I wouldn't have to change meds when we decide to have another kid.

I found out while there that when my thyroid was tested in August, it came back "low-normal," not just normal like I was told over the phone. I went to the lab to have it rechecked. Hopefully if it's still low-normal or lower, I can get on some meds for that. If not, I'm going to ask for a referral to an endocrinologist to figure out why things are out of whack and why the weight just won't budge.

I was also given orders to get my weight under control (as if that wasn't what I was trying to do!?) before we choose to have another baby, or I'm likely facing many complications again. He even recommended a weight loss surgery, but that's not a direction I'd like to go right now.

I'm not too excited about this all, but I was glad Dr. T. didn't blow off my concerns as he'd done in the past. Here's to making progress!

Thyroid results came in perfectly normal and actually in range, not on the low end of normal.

  1. SO FRUSTRATING!! I'm glad results were normal, but I'm sorry you didn't get the answers you were looking for. Maybe you just need to eat more chocolate ;) (I'm refraining from giving you advice b/c I'm sure you've heard it all before!)
    Hang in there hun!
